Our workshops are open to anyone interested in learning about Flying Foxes and Microbats and don’t require any previous knowledge. They are mandatory for new active members of BatsQLD before getting hands-on with rescues and rehab.


Introduction to basic bat rescue techniques and equipment.

Introduction to adult Flying Fox rehabilitation and wound management, as well as equipment and housing facilities needed when caring for adult Flying Foxes.

Sunday 24-July-2022   9:00 – 13:30 Helensvale


Introduction to rearing orphaned Flying Fox babies, as well as equipment and housing facilities required when caring for orphans.

Saturday 27-August-2022 9:00 – 13:30 Pacific Pines


Introduction to adult microbat rehabilitation and raising orphaned microbat babies, as well as equipment and housing facilities required. Workshop conducted by Rachel Ryons and organised by Wildcare Inc, supported by BCRQ, BQ and the Sunshine Coast Council.
