Our workshops are open to anyone interested in learning about Flying Foxes and Microbats and don’t require any previous knowledge. They are mandatory for new active members of BatsQLD before getting hands-on with rescues and rehab.

We are aiming towards running a workshop every couple of months, rotating between Bat Rescue, Flying-fox Rehabilitation, Flying-fox Orphan Rearing and Mircobat Rehabilitation training, as well as our Understanding Bats of Australia, Heat Stress Management and Fluid Management workshops.

For microbat carers, we strongly recommend attending the training by Rachel Lyons, which is held once a year (register early as this is a very popular workshop). Rabies vaccination is not required for workshop attendance (unless specifically noted), hence joining our workshops is a great way to ask questions, find out whats involved and whether this is something for you!

For any further questions, please contact education@batsqld.org.au.

For online attendance for out of area wildlife rescue permit holders please email president@batsqld.org.au
